TiER1 is looking for an energetic, entrepreneurial, “smart but humble” consultant who can be part of our rapidly expanding change management team. The position is client facing and will include on site time with our clients and collaborative time with our team at our office.

The right individual should…

  • Have several years of experience in Organizational Change Management and/or related fields
  • Have a strong understanding of adult learning principles and how people learn
  • Have demonstrated experience in consulting, facilitation and problem solving
  • Have exceptional communication skills and the ability to articulate ideas
  • Have demonstrated experience in leadership development
  • Be well-respected and trusted professionally and very likable personally
  • Be capable of both big-picture thinking and detailed task execution
  • Align well with the TiER1 culture which means they should enjoy collaborative work, be disciplined but entrepreneurial and creative, place a high value on personal relationships and the opportunity to impact people, have very high personal standards of excellence, and value the creation of value for others.

TiER1 Performance Solutions announced today that they received a Phase I Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) award from Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The Phase I contract will develop a suite of integrated tools including an organizing framework to document and analyze usability problems.

TiER1 will be working with Alion Science and Technology to identify the requirements and develop a solution known as the Automated Tool for Assessing Usability in Systems (A-TAUS). A-TAUS will help DHS personnel improve usability of homeland security systems (e.g., airport screening systems) by providing a single, integrated resource for usability evaluation, reporting, and tracking. 

According to Dr. Terence Andre, Principal Consultant for TiER1, this is a significant win for the company. “Usability is a critical aspect of software and hardware systems, especially those involving national transportation security systems.  Our win with DHS shows that TiER1’s technology for delivering information effectively within an organization is in great need by the federal government.  Our team will link together a suite of usability engineering tools to significantly improve the way DHS personnel design and evaluate systems.”

This grant is TiER1’s fourth SBIR for their research and ground-breaking technology, which is a true testament to the company’s innovation. “This win continues to expand TiER1’s research capability and the results from this research is used to benefit our commercial and government clients,” said Dr. Kevin Moore, TiER1 Co-Founder and Chief Learning Officer.  “This is a big win for TiER1 and the DHS.”
